No two divorces are the same. Just as no two people who might have taken that gut-wrenching path through divorce are the same. Still, I found, in having spoken with and listened to an unfortunately large number of people who have experienced divorce as I have, that there are some commonalities that we all, or most, have battled or fought hard to avoid once the “till death do us part” is done.
So, with a humble warning that, again, no two divorces are the same, I suggest these stages that many trek on their journey from what feels like H-E-Double Hockey Sticks to healing. The point in which some of these stages comes varies from person-to-person. How long the stages last vary from person-to-person. Whether all the stages are endured, or some are able to be avoided vary from person-to-person. The ABILITY, through the grace of God to overcome them all is…

Have you ever felt invisible? I remember the trailblazing, science fiction movie, “The Incredible Shrinking Man” that told the saga of an average, everyday man who finds himself on the short end of the height stick (literally) as he gradually, but certainly shrinks to a barely recognizable physical existence due to exposure from a strange dark cloud. By movie’s end, and no larger than an atom, the main character declares, “To God there is no zero. I still exist!”
Wow! I don’t know about you, but I can recall a few times in my life that I’ve felt small in existence. Earlier on, it took me a while to come to the realization that “I still exist” as the character Scott Carey reached in the movie. I’ll be honest and say that later in well over 40 years of life I’ve had to work harder at remembering and holding to the incredible-ness of my…

Five years ago on January 2, 2013 I took a leap of faith and wrote my first official blog post.
Wow! Time has flown and I’m so grateful to have had each of you along the way for the ride. I’ve published more than 900 posts simply because I love words, and from time-to-time have something to say. There have been ups and downs, life changes, challenges, celebrations, events, random musings, inspiration, too many testimonies to count and food. What’s next? I don’t know, but I can’t wait to share it with you.
And as always, remember…Life Gets Better!
Acclaimed rapper, actor and businessman TI was in Birmingham last month for the 76th Magic City Classic. At the request of sponsor and Magic City Classic supporter, Coors Light, the Atlanta rapper spread his southern hospitality in the Magic City with a concert performance.
The partnership with TI and Coors Light is one proving to be beneficial as a presentation of two checks of $10000 each from Coors Light were presented to Alabama State University and Alabama A&M University.

Becoming a staple at the McDonald’s Magic City Classic, the Coors Light Tailgate Experience was also one for the record books as game-goers and tailgaters braved the muddy conditions to enjoy the festivities which included live music, vendors, interactive games and more.

A good time was had by all, especially from my household!

Another day I’ve awaken to the thought of my Myrna Ria Ross. The teacher who actually never taught me in a classroom, but taught me so much through the last nearly 30 years of life passed away on Saturday night. In the wake of her passing, my social media timelines have literally been flooded with words so stirring, soothing and comforting that I am again compelled to post following my previous post of If You Love Someone Say So.
Even though I call her “my” Myrna Ria, I’m smart enough to know that she was shared by thousands. It amazes me that one woman’s heart could be big enough to hold the secrets, pains, successes, journeys and joys of so many. It floors me that her head could carry the names of them all, with stories of old and new attached to each with an ease I now marvel over all…
